Mollie Vehling is a proud UCLA graduate with a B.A. in dance. While at UCLA, she served on the UCLA Dance Team for two years. Mollie is currently in her 14th season as the UCLA Spirit Director. With more than 30 years of experience and training in dance, choreography, producing and directing, she is thrilled to be working with the UCLA program.
Mollie continues to serve as a judge for competitions and auditions at all levels throughout the United States. She has produced instructional cheer and dance DVDs with Championship Productions currently available online.
Mollie has traveled with the team to Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai, as well as universities throughout the U.S. She has choreographed and coordinated the productions for each of the international trips. She has also choreographed for multiple television and movie projects.
She enjoys working closely with the Spirit Directors throughout the PAC-12. Mollie is extremely proud of how the UCLA Spirit program has developed under her leadership. She is very excited for the new community outreach incentives to take off - including the Jr. Spirit Squad and Bruin Sparkles cheer squad.
Mollie and her husband, Derek, are the proud parents of Lillie, Emilie, Brodie and Maggie Mae - all future Bruins!
Nicole Cohen is returning to her alma mater for her fifth season. She graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in World Arts and Cultures, concentrating on dance and spent three years on the Dance Team. She also worked in the television and film industry, appearing in several movies, a TV series and commercials for Fox Sports and the Lexus Gauntlet.
Upon graduation, Nicole moved to Boston where she spent a year performing as an inaugural member of the Celtics Dancers. She returned to California and began dancing with the Los Angeles Clippers Spirit in 2007. In addition to her five years with the NBA, Nicole has performed with Rihanna, Cee Lo Green and Lenny Kravitz at the 2011 All-Star Game, as well as taken part in international performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Xi’an and Mexico City. Her choreography credits include routines for UCLA Dance, Cheer and Mascot Teams, the Los Angeles Clippers Spirit and Jr. Jam Teams, the UCI Dance Team and the Tokyo Apache Dance Team.
Nicole currently teaches dance and choreographs throughout the South Bay and Brentwood areas. Dance plays a large role in Nicole’s life, and she hopes to instill her passion for dance in her students. She is looking forward to another exciting year at UCLA! Go Bruins!
Kyle Bruich is excited to be back at UCLA, where he earned his B.A. in history with a minor in English. He served as a member of the Cheer Squad and was a two-time captain. While on the team, Kyle was fortunate enough to perform at the Rose Bowl, Rose Parade, Sun Bowl, NCAA tournament, and was featured in both Muscle and Fitness and Elle Magazines.
With a master’s degree in education, Kyle is no stranger to good instruction. A former head instructor with the United Spirit Association, he earned the title of MVP and served on the company’s program development team. He has traveled around the country choreographing, coaching, producing and designing music mixes for various school and all-star teams, ranging from pee-wee to professional, including huge industrial shows for Cisco Computer Systems, the LPGA, Volkswagen and more. Several of his teams have won national titles and high-point designations.
As a commercially trained dancer, he has toured around the world with the North American Tour of Miss Saigon, and cheerleading shows in China and Guatemala and has been cast in commercials for ESPN College Game Day, Adidas and Disney.
Kyle is currently in pursuit of his doctorate in education and serves as an assistant principal in the Inland Empire. He is very proud to be a part of the UCLA Spirit Squad team and looks forward to an exciting year for all of the fans.
Safia Fitzpatrick is an alumna and former cheerleader from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She earned her degree in movement science with a focus in occupational therapy from the School of Kinesiology. While at Michigan, she cheered at football and basketball games, competed nationally and performed at the Rose Bowl, Rose Parade and Outback Bowl. As a UCA Staff Instructor, Safia traveled the Midwest region coaching and choreographing for nationally ranked high schools and all-star programs, earning herself the title of UCA Midwest Rookie of the Year.
As a two time All-American and captain of her team, Safia has taken her passion of health and wellness as well as her love for cheerleading and turned it into a career. Escalating her performance as a Detroit Pistons Cheerleader, she has been featured as a fitness model in Athlon Sports Magazine, Nubreed media and the T2 Think Twice clothing store in Belgium. While living in Belgium, Safia introduced the sport of cheerleading and coached a National Club Basketball Cheer Program, taught as certified Peak Pilates instructor and instructed a hip hop class out of nationally renowned Dansstudio Flash.
Currently, Safia is a proud wife to Jimmy Fitzpatrick, working as a personal trainer and life coach. She is thrilled to be joining the Bruin Team!
No stranger to Pac-12 Athletics, University of Arizona graduate and former cheerleader, Irazmi Perez joins us on the Bruin sideline for her first season. With more than 16 years of cheerleading, coaching and judging experience, and as a former head instructor and Nationals judge for the United Spirit Association, she is very familiar with the coveted “West Coast flair” seen in cheer and dance routines. Irazmi uses this talent in her free time as a certified safety and technical judge at events around the world.
Irazmi has coached and choreographed at all levels of cheerleading across the United States from high school to all-star and college teams. As a cheerleader and coach, she defended and won multiple national titles and has been featured by The OC Register, The WB Network, American Cheerleader Magazine and Inside Cheerleading Magazine. Her most recent accomplishments include being nominated for the U.S. All-Star Federation’s Emerging Leaders Program, and being selected as one of the industry’s “Power 35 under 35” in Inside Cheerleading Magazine. She previously coached the nationally ranked University of California, San Diego Cheer team.
With her master’s in education, she has a gift for promoting the complete student-athlete experience. A fluent Castilian Spanish speaker, she has a passion for meeting people around the world and is looking forward to meeting Bruin fans from coast to coast this season! When she is not coaching, judging or working with the U.S. All-Star Federation, she is training for her first Ironman triathlon and likes to run marathons as well.
This is Stacey’s fifth year training and conditioning with the team. She also teaches through the Fitwell Department in the Wooden Center on campus. She is the owner and trainer at CrossFit Dark Horse in Sherman Oaks and currently coaches a high school cheer and dance team.
In addition to an M.F.A. and B.F.A., Stacey is currently CrossFit Level 1 certified, Olympic weightlifting certified and Tae Bo certified. She spent three years acting as area coordinator for three gyms and their fitness programs.
In addition to coaching, she has competed at the regional level at the 2010 CrossFit Games and many local competitions in and around Orange County.
Suzie is in her fifth season with the Spirit Squad. Renowned for her ability to create a flawless face, Suzie specializes in subtle transformations, helping women draw out the most beautiful version of their natural selves.
Suzie’s work has been pictured in People magazine, South Bay Magazine, Your Wedding Day Magazine and more. She has done make-up and styling for numerous appearances for The Tonight Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, The View and Fox News, to name a few. It’s no wonder celebrities like Meghan McCain, Jaleel White, Gary Busey, Weird Al Yankovic and Larry King trust her with their on-camera faces.
Suzie earned her esthetician license in 1992 while getting her B.A. in Psychology & Social behavior from UC Irvine. Her favorite job is being a mom to her 7-year-old son, Hudson. www.suziemoldavon.com
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Fay Z.S. Epps, M.S. has been teaching nutrition classes in the Family & Consumer Science Department as well as Health classes in the Health/P.E. Department at Los Angeles Mission College since 1999. She has more than 24 years experience in the area of health education and nutrition. For several years, Fay was also the director of education at a high-risk obesity clinic affiliated with UCLA providing individual wellness counseling. A Southern California resident, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, reading, gardening, watching movies, cooking and keeping active.
